COVID-19 Cancellation
To all BCB Supporters…
Earlier we stated we would take the lead that Village Church, Oregon Health Authority, government advisories, and the CDC recommends in response to this virus to minimize its transmission.
This week in a streamed news conference Oregon Governor Kate Brown announced that all public gatherings and events with over 250 people for the next four weeks have been canceled in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
As a result, Beaverton Community Band is cancelling the concert scheduled for March 22nd and all rehearsals for the given future. We are dependent on our venues and both Jesuit high School and Beaverton School District have issued a reduction in activities in their facilities. We thank you for your support of our efforts to prepare for this concert and encourage you to let your friends and relatives know of its cancellation.
I encourage you to go to the Beaverton Community Band YouTube channel to see us perform at NW Bandfest this last weekend. We performed a partial list of the concert pieces we were to play in the cancelled concert. you can see it at: https://youtu.be/p5K0Ykpf2LI
We encourage you to stay informed via local and government agencies some of which are here:
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention
The Oregon Health Authority
World Health Organization
Village Church COVID-19 Response
Thank you again for your support of Beaverton Community Band and we hope to see you at our next concert.
Mayne Mihacsi,
President, Beaverton Community Band
