9000 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy, Portland, OR.

The Beaverton Community Band (Martin Sobelman, Conductor) will hold its Spring Concert Sunday, June 9th, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Jesuit High School, 9000 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway, Beaverton, OR.

Beaverton Community Band proudly presents a vibrant concert featuring chart topping rock ‘n roll music from the 60s, 70s, and beyond. The classic rock genre will be highlighted with pieces from heavy hitters the Moody Blues, Deep Purple, Queen, Chicago, and more. The concert will feature the Moody Blues’ most successful release, Nights in White Satin, and several world recognizable Queen hits including Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, Crazy Little thing Called Love, We Will Rock You, and We Are the Champions. Get ready to clap and stomp your feet!

80s and 90s fans, don’t despair! Devotees of U2 will be excited for U2 On Stage, which includes arrangements of Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where the Streets Have no Name, One, and Pride (In the Name of Love). Red Hot Chili Peppers, a group known to incorporate alternative rock, funk, punk rock, and more, will be on display with their songs Californication, Under the Bridge, and Snow [Hey Oh].

Less rock-oriented audience members will not be left out with the performance of Ilari Hylkila’s piece Saga. Saga was inspired by legends of the Middle Ages. Hylkila is described as a cinematic and passionate composer, which we hope comes across in our performance.
