Americana Plus Concert June 23, 2019

The Beaverton Community Band will present “Americana Plus: A Musical Tribute to Americana and Veterans” at 6:30 P.M. on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at The Round, 12600 SW Crescent Street, Beaverton, OR.

The Beaverton Community Band presents a concert at The Round on June 23rd. This year’s theme is “Americana Plus” and features music honoring our country and veterans, as well as selected pieces from the band’s Spring Concert.

This outdoor concert offers pieces as varied as John Philip Sousa marches and a Queen medley. Other pieces pay tribute to great American composers such as Leonard Bernstein, recall the weaving of American folklore, or honor America’s military. The program also offers a nod to an outsize cultural phenomenon that played a role in America’s history: the British Invasion of the 1960s.

With no admission fee and a location mere steps from the Central Beaverton MAX stop, the Beaverton Community Band’s concert at The Round is accessible to everyone.

Sunday, June 23rd, 6:30 P.M.

Admission: Free.

The Beaverton Community Band has performed for the Beaverton community for over 30 years. The concert at The Round will be followed by a performance at the Summer 2019 Chalk Art Festival on August 10th at Cedar Hills Crossing.

The Beaverton Community Band’s mission is to engage audiences with diverse artistic performances, enlighten the community through music education, and enrich the lives of its members. The band’s members volunteer their time to support music educators throughout the Beaverton School District, to encourage beginning musicians and build a vibrant arts community.
